Pay Range $96,200.
00-$132,200.
00 Annual This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire.
Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors.
In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.
The Environmental Manager is responsible for overseeing/maintaining the environmental compliance for a manufacturing facility including air permitting, water pollution prevention, solid and hazardous waste management, spill prevention and countermeasures control, emergency response management, training on environmental programs, environmental budget, supporting and driving productivity improvements, and reviewing and approving authority for capital expenditures.
Your Day to Day:
Provides accurate, cost effective and timely technical and regulatory compliance support to the plant Provides regulatory interpretation and technical advice; represents the company with state and federal agencies as required.
IDEM (Air Permits, Solid and Hazardous Waste Management) Health Department (Radioactive Device License; Inspections Recordkeeping) Local City (Wastewater Discharge Permits) EPA (SPCC, SWPPP, GHG, RICE, CFC/HCFC Recycling, TRI Programs, EPCRA) Receive, review, and reply to communications from government agencies pertaining to permits and Environmental Programs Establishes and maintain programs to ensure that operating permits are in line for all sources of air emissions.
Monitor the NESHAP Monitoring System for alarms (Daily), interpret to determine potential air permit deviations, report to plant management on any deviations and perform root cause analysis.
Write and/or review procedures for employees to follow the Environmental Program requirements Ensures our communities and employees are aware of the potential hazards created by plant operations Identify opportunities to simplify and increase air permits compliance through data acquisition systems:
Assist JM Corporate Environmental to evaluate and determine appropriate permitting and abatement strategies for projects that may have an impact on existing air quality permits with an emphasis on NESHAP, NSPS, NSR/PSD, and USEPA/CARB/GCAPCD regulatory requirements.
Maintains current knowledge of specific requirements imposed by government agencies.
Qualifies all personnel involved in water sampling and testing Maintaining environmental abatement equipment Emergency response Handling of hazardous materials and waste Ensures that all industrial wastewater discharged from the plant will not violate the limits of the plant operating industrial discharge permit.
Represent the company with local, state, and federal agencies as required and interface with the general public on environmental issues and promote the company's environmental initiatives at public hearings, meetings, etc.
Track, analyze and investigate wastewater discharges data and investigate discharge events.
Manage and supervise wastewater sampling by qualified vendors to meet permit requirements Provide monthly report to City of Richmond and notify City of Richmond of any changes in industrial wastewater discharges Ensures process and waste waters are properly managed to protect ground waters and surface tributaries from contamination.
Perform monthly and quarterly inspections under the SWPPP and report and follow up with management on recommendations to correct any observations founds in nonconformance.
Ensure the proper disposal of hazardous waste and lead a plant-wide effort to eliminate solid waste by reducing process waters, reusing, and recycling various materials.
Perform weekly inspection and communication as well as inventories on universal and hazardous waste and manage disposal.
Manage waste streams and maintain waste profile and records on all waste generated.
Coordinates site/plant-wide environmental audits and analyze results, complete action items Establishes and implements plant-wide communications pertaining to environmental compliance to ensure employees are aware of potential hazards and unsafe conditions Develops and conducts management and employee training Emergency preparedness champion Develops reviews and revises written regulatory compliance programs.
Complete monthly reports to plant and Corporate Environmental Management Support/drive productivity improvements Monitors budgetary requirements Provides support to the Sr.
Safety Specialist.
May be required to perform other related duties as assigned What You Bring to the Team:
Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or related field with a minimum of 5 years' experience in environmental programs, regulatory environments preferably from a manufacturing environment Thorough knowledge of Local/State/Government rules/regulations i.

Environmental (30 TAC, 40 CFR) Thorough knowledge of Transportation of Hazardous Waste (49 CFR) Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Ability to diagnose and solve complex problems Effective leadership skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Ability to work and partner with Plant Leadership team Minimal travel required (0 - 10 days per year) May be required to lift, carry, push or pull up to and including 25 pounds Work environment is typical of a manufacturing facility; may be exposed to environmental conditions of cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust/mist/gas/fumes, extensive walking or climbing, etc.
