Hourly Basic Function of Position:
Set up and operate and flake feed equipment, extrusion machine, pelletizers, solid stating and pellet silos and ensure area safety, product quality, and capacity parameters are followed.
Adjust machine components to regulate speeds, pressures, temperatures, and amounts, dimensions and flow of materials or ingredients Ensure that quality expectations are met and notify lead, or supervisor, when extruded or solid stated product fails to meet standards Record and Maintain production data such as meter readings ad quantities, types and dimensions of materials produced Turn controls to adjust machine functions, such as regulating air pressure, speed settings, material flow, water flow, and synchronize extruder and flake feed and pellet flow etc.
Manage flake feed system, extruder, pelletization and solid stating equipment.
Manage feed of pellets from pelletization to solid stating and to product silos.
Follow all applicable company and plant Quality, Safety, and Housekeeping rules.

General Requirements High school education or equivalent.
Minimum two (3) years in a manufacturing environment as a machine operator, assistant operator or helper.
Strong mechanical background preferred.
Ability to operate computerized equipment required.
Ability to complete production, process and inventory reports.
Requires walking / standing approximately 95% of time; lifting up to 50 lbs.
; involves repetitive stooping/crouching, forward bending, and climbing stairs.
Good communication skills.
Good organizational skills required.
Must be detailed oriented and capable of handling multiple tasks.
Forklift experience required.
Must be able to work and perform in a team environment.
Must have a positive attitude and take direction from the Shift Manager.
Must be hands on and a good listener.
Quality Requirements Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), policies, and procedures related to Quality to ensure that all manufactured products are in compliance with Customer Specifications, Industry, and Company Standards.
Safety Requirements Follow all applicable plant rules, maintenance rules and general plant safety rules at all times while on company property.
Wear approved hearing protection, safety shoes, bump cap and eye protection in all manufacturing areas at all times.
Conduct inspection of work area prior to beginning shift.
Immediately report any safety, maintenance, or housekeeping issues to Shift Manager.
Never tamper with or alter any safety device, mechanism, or guard on any plant equipment.
Immediately notify Shift Manager of any maintenance, safety malfunction, or concern.
Immediately notify Shift Manager of any safety concerns or questions regarding safety procedures or practices in the performance of their job.
Properly maintain housekeeping in work area to minimize safety problems.
Follow specific safety rules for all manufacturing equipment and material handling equipment.

Housekeeping Requirements The following areas must remain clear of obstructions:
Aisles/exits Fire extinguishers and emergency equipment All electrical breakers, controls, and switches Eye wash/safety showers You are responsible for keeping your work area clean and safe.
Clean as necessary throughout the workday, disposing of trash or waste in approved containers, wiping up drips or spills immediately, and putting equipment and tools away when you are finished with them.
Foods and beverages are not allowed in the production area.
Tobacco of any kind is not allowed anywhere on company property.
