Matthews International Corporation is hiring a regular full-time distribution center driver for its Richmond, Indiana location.
This individual will participate in the distribution and delivery of products to local and national clients. This individual needs to be able to demonstrate that they can work independently without direct supervision by taking responsibility for assigned tasks and communicate with dispatch on a regular basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Drives gasoline or diesel powered tractor trailer combination to transport and deliver finished products and raw materials in packaged form by dispatch.
Performs all required inspections of truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition promptly.
Maintains accurate driver log according to DOT and company regulations.
Assists distribution center and warehouse workers in loading and unloading truck.
Operates assigned equipment safely in accordance with company, Department of Transportation, and OSHA safety programs and rules.
Keeps work environment (tractor and trailer) neat and clean.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Current valid CDL license and DOT physical examination required.
Clean MVR and CSA2010, preferred.
